Polpette E Crescentine - BOLOGNA

The Crestino (fried pastry) were great, the bolognese dish definitely lacking flavour, and the polpette, supposedly a specialty, were pale with no flavour and not enjoyable. As the restaurant hypes itself as an authentic Bolognese cuisine, the menu we had was definitely not. We came to Bologna to experience great Italian food. The chef here is african, no doubt a capable chef but doesn’t have the Italian flair for flavour, so a bit disappointing all round.

We had meatball with almond , wow surprised me it was so good . My pasta was nice too . Wine lovely .

It was few nights ago , after an so heavy day of work in a International exhibition here in Bologna the an italian friend drive in Polpette e Crescentine restaurant.it 's a KM zero it mean that all the foods and wines are coming from the locals farmer and vinery.an explosion of flavors and tasting meatball !! the crescentine are fantastic a kind of salty pasta fried to eat with ham and local Mortadella slices and fresh cheese straccio o squaquerone.... wines are really a surprise thinking that other Italian regions have a production of high level and great reputation labels.i suggest this place 100% .service very kind and smiling staff. price average.

We arrived for a late lunch in the freezing cold and loved sitting under the heating watching the world go by. We ordered the pumpkin ravioli and chard to share both were delicious and a bottle of red. Good selection on the menu especially a vegetable selection which was a welcome change from the cured meats and bread. Friendly happy waiters and very friendly locals informed us as to what everyone else was eating. Slightly more expensive but very enjoyable

You get your dishes, bearing in mind the name, often served in balls on a bed of, for example, olive paste or cheese sauce. My wife had never eaten anything so tasty and original vegetarian in this country until then. The desserts were equally tasty and refined. And reasonably priced. After our request to serve coffee with milk after dinner, the manager let out a mildly cheerful, slight cry of despair. All in all a pleasant, good and informal restaurant.
