Fantastic food and service, very friendly atmosphere. The restaurant has seating for about 27 people, making it quite cozy. Richard and his staff were delightful; we had a great time with them, and the ambiance was lovely. The presentation of the food was quite artistic, though perhaps a bit on the pretentious side. What User doesn't like about Little Hallingbury Mill:
We were disappointed with our experience, as our arrival seemed unanticipated. The menu appeared to be poorly written and clearly consisted of frozen items. There’s really no excuse for that. This restaurant was much better 30 years ago. View all feedback.
My family and myself attended for my Nan's birthday. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Staff were very accomodating and friendly.
Booked late in the day for a last minute table. All good. Owner was very friendly and helpful and had a good chat about the area as we were looking at a property in the area. I ordered chickpea and butternut squash curry with wild rice and it was very tasty. My husband ordered roast turkey and it was fresh and nicely presented. This was exceptional as we were the last diners of the lunch shift and ordering a roast late in the day is not always good! Although not moving to the area now, would definately pop in again, especially in the summer, as lovely setting on the river.
Good food, very helpful friendly service, wonderful setting, interesting water mill machinery.
The building is stunning and setting lovely. The staff were very polite and kept in touch with us throughout the afternoon to make sure we and everything was OK. The table was easy to book and we had a lovely time. Local to us and important we support our local companies so give them a try, I believe dog friendly too.
An absolute gem tucked away by the river in the Essex countryside! Food, service, ambience attention to detail were both faultless and I cannot recommend highly enough that you try Little Hallingbury Mill for yourself. My friend has a gluten free requirement and she said the scones were the best she has ever had! We will certainly be going back again soon...
