Good selection and prices. Outstanding staff, best customer service I've ever had at a grocery store. Well stocked, few shortages, and almost always has an alternative. Almost back to normal. We checked out in the 20 or less. The cashier Bella just watched an older man drop reusable bags on the ground, and struggle to get everything packed. She just stood there, no eye contact or help. I waited a few months to see if something had changed in the Market Basket and nope. The cash registers are still as slow and as unfriendly as they have always been when I think it is a good idea to buy here. I don't even know what's worse to have someone I don't want to talk to wasting my time with what they say, or the formidable long time she needs to ring in every single article. It is literal torture that is trying to buy here, especially because of the cash registers and excavators.
I can't applaud Market Basket enough. After years of shopping in Hannaford in Kennebunk, after talking to friends about lower prices in the Market Basket, I tried. Last month, my food bill was between $30 $40 a week lower on the same items. Sliced turkey at the deli is $7.49lb, not $10.99lb, Anjou pears are $1.69lb, not $2.49lb, Philadelphia cream cheese large tub is $6.99, not $7.99 and so on. Market Basket is clean, well stocked, many helpers and numerous cashiers at any time I've shopped. They also have excavators who actually know how to listen to inquiries as not too hard. You even load your food into your car when you ask them! I'm a loyal customer now.
Biddeford Market Basket is great! I've been there for a few years. Great choice, good prices. People working there can be grumpy. Why? I don't know. Are they treated badly by the administration? The checkout on #23 should be avoided. She's never happy and never says hello or hi when I say hello. Only once she talked to me, you have to lift the bags into the basket, my back hurts. Avoid cashier #23. Everything else, I travel a little extra distance to Market Basket every week, it's really good.
I grew up with my mother shopping at DeMoulas in Chelmsford Ma. My family moved to Me more than 40 years ago. Of course, I was thrilled when they opened in Biddeford. Originally, it was pretty good. Recently, it has been horrible. The checkout lines are interminable. Our favorite item used to be the Market Basket marinated steak tips. Tonight I bought 3 packs for almost $60. Used to be my new son in laws They are now very expensive. And tough as nails. Inedible. They must have switched to a cheaper grade of steak. I'm done.
