I was pleasantly surprised with the food when there was no one to greet us at the door. We sat our selves down at a table set for 2 and waited for someone to come out from the kitchen to take our order. There was a large table and 2 other tables of 2 so not overly busy. Once we ordered the food came out fast. It was very tasty and reasonably priced. The pork ribs in plum sauce was my fave. The large fried rice was go... View all feedback.

The bamboo inn was disappointing in a number of ways. Lousy service and poor facilities. Rest rooms were especially disturbing, disgusting and in breach of numerous regulations View all feedback.

Definitley recommended. Not licenced only BYO.
My father and I visited the Bamboo Inn because our usual Chinese restaurant was closed for the Christmas - new year period. I found it on Trip Advisor and it had a 4.5 rating. We booked in and duly arrived at 5:30pm. We were quickly seated and the waitress took our drinks order - solo & coke. Shortly after the drinks arrived and the waitress took our food order - prawn toast, Shanghai Beef, Deep Fried chicken in lemon sauce and a small fried rice.I used chopsticks and Dad used a spoon and fork - he's a good, old Aussie. The prawn toast was nice, the beef excellent and the fried rice as you would expect. The chicken sauce was nice but the chicken itself was a bit tough and stringy. I hope this wasn't because we ate during a long weekend. We mentioned the chicken to the cashier who just said "OK".
Good Cantonese fare at very reasonable prices and with very large servings. I must admit though that the food doesn't have that special flair that it had some years ago, but nevertheless very good in nice surroundings with pleasant and prompt service.
Ive been coming here for over 30 years and it is still awesome food.Clean fresh and lovely service. It was never that over sloppy type of chinese and they have changed the menu over the years and its still great. You get what you pay for here and the fried rice is the best! Honey prawns are lovely and fresh and large serves.
