Excellent service. Very attentive. Food is great. Philly steak omelet is my go to here. Monte Cristo french toast is flavorful. Plain french toast is also great. They were always there to refill our coffee when we were low. Our waitress was very friendly. Portions are big so bring an appetite. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Stony Hill Diner:
On my first visit, I ordered a meatball grinder to go. After getting home I opened it find the bottom of the grinder was completely charred and a layer of the bread was stuck to the aluminum pan. Because I live far away I asked for a refund, and understanding they would want proof offered to email/text pictures but they insisted I bring the food back in which was impossible for me. My first experience here... from walking until we left, we were treated as VIP guests by some of the most attentive waiters I ever met. If you are looking for great food, fast service and excellent customer service, this is the place where you are on Route 84 in Connecticut.
What can I say? The place is perfect as it is. The food was amazing and tasteful. Portion size was 2x. I had enough at two meals. I have the lasagna and the dead salad. So two main ingredients were made home. The blue cheese dressing was cream and had the right texture. The Marinara sauce was also homemade and the hit of the meal. When cooking staff make the extra mile at home, the important things you are really in the treatment. Okay. The young girl waiting for me could have worked in Disney world, and I asked if she likes her job. Your answer was unpaid. She told me about the owners and what big people they should work. Even the other waitresses are friendly and in good humor. Definitely a place you have to go to when in the area. It's worth the trip.
Typical diner meals from full entrees to burgers and sandwiches, all superb and served in a clean and convenient location. We hit this while in town twice a year. Get some of the cash register cookies for the road. You are welcome!
