Berlin 's Schöneberg Café Neues Ufer is a gem of a place for a quiet drink, or a relaxing Kaffee und Kuchen. Popular with locals, it has a quiet, calming atmosphere for tourists too. Of course, this is the famous David Bowie local (formerly Anderes Ufer), the location is an institution for rock and LGBT historians. Great drinks, friendly staff, and of course, the place is adorned with some superb images of the man himself, who lived two doors further along this street (155), including an image of his last album Blackstar in the window so you cannot miss it!.
I was here in January of 2015, on a self-guided Bowie quest with a friend. We had tea and cake in a little corner booth and enjoyed the beautiful ambience and extremely personable man behind the counter. With cut tulips in vases on the tables, this little cafe was a welcome break from winter in Berlin and added to the magic of our visit.

It's a quaint little place. I went on a Saturday evening and it was still mostly empty. Very kind bartender made me a coffee even though he had already turned off the machine. The cappuccino I had was really good and the overall vibe of the place just very chill. Good music and David Bowie all over the walls (obviously: . Really enjoyed my time here, very cosy.
Loved everything about this place, the vibes, the staff (the bartender was just so lovely in both times I come by , all the Bowie memorabilia, everything was simply amazing, a must when in Berlin! (Ps so sorry for staying a bit late, me and my friends were just having an amazing time!!
