Popular with locals, it has a quiet, calming atmosphere for tourists too. Of course, this is the famous David Bowie local (formerly Anderes Ufer), the location is an institution for rock and LGBT historians. Great drinks, friendly staff, and of course, the place is adorned with some superb images of the man himself, who lived two doors further along this street (155), including an image of his last album Blackstar in the window so you cannot miss it!.

We had tea and cake in a little corner booth and enjoyed the beautiful ambience and extremely personable man behind the counter. With cut tulips in vases on the tables, this little cafe was a welcome break from winter in Berlin and added to the magic of our visit.
