Contribute Feedback What Jen Norton likes about Beechworth Bakery:
I had a wonderful lunch that included dessert. The bee sting cake was delightful, and the Ned Kelly pie was excellent as well. The snickerdoodle was also quite tasty. They were very generous with the complimentary tomato sauce. However, I was a bit disappointed that the bottomless coffee was just instant coffee; I was hoping for percolated coffee. I felt a little let down, especially since I was excited about using a... View all feedback.
What Delilah Koepp doesn't like about Beechworth Bakery:
I was informed several times that their bread is not vegan because it contains fat, so I'm not sure why they were listed as a vegan option. I also heard from the staff that their cakes are brushed with egg or milk. They do offer a vegan donut, but most of the employees seem to be unclear about what qualifies as vegan. The donut itself was extremely sticky and overly sweet—I’ve definitely had better. For now, I'm hesi... View all feedback.
I've mentioned a few times that their bread isn't vegan because it contains animal fat, which makes me question why they are listed as vegan-friendly. I also pointed out that their cakes and pastries, which contain eggs or milk, are brushed by the staff. They do offer a vegan donut, but most of the employees seem unsure about what vegan actually means. The donut was extremely sticky and overly sweet—I’ve had better. For now, I remain uncertain about their vegan options until the staff has a clearer understanding of what qualifies as vegan. This is a bit challenging to address at the moment due to the limited number of employees available in the shop.
I really enjoyed the Beechworth Bakery located near Beechworth. I interviewed the owner years ago and inquired about vegan options, so I'm thrilled to see that they finally offer some! The veggie chickpea curry pie is delicious, and I also loved the vegan donut. However, the chili con carne pie contained faux meat with a tomato and bean base, which was a bit off-putting for me. On the other hand, I absolutely adored the Beestings and the Bavarian Rings. I really hope they will create vegan versions of those someday! Fingers crossed... Amazing experience at this restaurant! I absolutely adore this place. The atmosphere is wonderful, the staff is excellent, and the baked goods are top-notch. I highly recommend trying the Bushman's pasty and the French Vanilla Slice, and don't forget the coffee. Definitely stop by; you won't regret it!
Oh yum! It was a long drive from the city to Bendigo, but the restaurant is conveniently located right on the corner and there’s plenty of parking available. It has a pretty relaxed atmosphere, and since it was Monday, it was a bit quieter than usual. They offer a wide variety of sweet treats, including donuts, cakes, and cookies, as well as savory options like pies and sandwiches. I tried one of the sandwiches, and it was fantastic—perfectly portioned and great for lunch. It’s also a nice spot to chill and unwind. I really liked it!

They were very generous with the complimentary tomato sauce. However, I was a bit disappointed that the bottomless coffee was just instant coffee; I was hoping for percolated coffee. I felt a little let down, especially since I was excited about using a voucher I picked up in Bendigo for a free coffee. On a positive note, there's plenty of parking available for a late lunch on the weekend, and the customer service was fantastic.
