Japonessa Sushi Cocina - Bellevue

This is the best sushi I have eaten on the east side. The fish is so good. There’s only one other restaurant and it’s a family owned sushi place that is just as comparable but man this restaurant is amazing and to be this classy, and the staff so nice and involved, I can’t help but want to come back. I tried it last week in the day time and went last night for happy hour. Both times amazing service and great food. Prices are reasonable for the area and happy hour is really good. Highly recommend. Always good sushi was amazing Rockstar is what I had And El Matador but Rockstar was the best. Me and my husband shared the Calamari Salad omg delicious

Excellent sushi rolls and nigiri. My favorite are the daily Bento boxes with miso available before 5pm and the Mexican Ninja roll.

Similar quality to the Seattle location, so you can’t go wrong with Seattle or Bellevue. The rolls are the best I’ve had at any sushi-type establishment because 1) the head chef is a fusion genius and 2) they have high quality sushi in the rolls. If you’re more of a sashimi type of person, you won’t find a better quality selection of fresh seafood than Japonessa. They take the time, energy, finances, and effort to put out the very best. Lastly, it’s not that bad on your wallet! Especially the all day HH that goes on in the bar and until 6:30pm in the casual dining area. My recommendation: GET RESERVATIONS. There’s a reason why it’s hard to get a seat here at either locations. It’s simply the best.
