Fantastic prices and even better food! Our server, who has been with the restaurant for 29 years, shared that the current owner is the fourth generation to run the family business. My fiancé and I are traveling and staying nearby. We were working at the fairground in Waterloo. Found this place on the way home and it was late on a Monday. The bartender Tim was accommodating to let us come in for a drink. Friendly, welcoming and invited us to come back for daily specials in the following week since we will have to work late nights. We definitely will!! The food looks amazing and fellow bar goers supported his claim of how great the food is. Service was great! :
I eat here often ..love their chicken wings and chicken livers.. their weekly specials are reasonable for large quantity of food
*5 stars for a great, relaxed bar* Cheap beer, good food and comfortable place to relax. Lots of nice people here and we LOVE the staff. This is definitely a home away from home bar for us. It's an old type of tavern feel. Ask about the history of the building! You'll be glad you did. Give it a shot!
Special of the day, chichen fried chichen, may have been from a local outlet. Complete seem to be have been warmed up with the white gravy which was okay the green beans were delicious, best part of the meal.
5 Star tavern food!! Complete with authentic old school tavern decor! Love, love, love this place! We often come here for the FISH which is the best in town! Always piping hot and crispy! The cornmeal batter is my favorite ...accompanied by the dill or jalapeño tartar sauce! Exotic!! The staff is friendly and attentive! Unpretentious, down-home, delicious tavern food! Get it with a cold Stag! The local favorite beer! Chicken is also great on chicken nights!
