Have tried various Indian Restaurants in the Mt Lawley/Inglewood/Highgate Area and whilst many have been good, this was definitely the best. What User doesn't like about Jolly Good Indian:
WE did not last long enough to test the quality of the food. A wait-person fleetingly showed some interest, promised water, then disappeared, not to be seen again. The restaurant was unbearably hot (it had been a very warm day) the air conditioner was fitted but not switched on.We retired after ten fruitless, waterless, waterless minutes.Possibly good for "Take Away" - but avoid "Dine In" at any cost! Had the lamb korma and butter chicken here both of which were great although the lamb korma really impressed me. Also can recommend the garlic naan. Nice lighting effects at night with soft lights off the wooden floors. My only complaint was I felt it was a tad pricey but I'll be back although just less due price :)
Probably the best quality meat I have eaten in a curry. We shared butter chicken, chicken jalfrezi, lamb Rohan josh and beef vindaloo. All fantastic served in a small house turned into restaurant. BYO for $3 corkage. Very good service. Also very busy with takeaway. We will be back.
Always satisfied at the JGI. The dishes I've tried were tasty, generous in size and available for take-away if you can't finish. I often share a chicken tikka masala and garlic nam with my partner as a take away because we are fortunate to live very close.
Average at best must be different people running the place. The restaurant was empty on a Saturday night which is unusual. Food average
