My fiancé and I visited the restaurant and initially had to wait a bit for a server. However, when he arrived, he was exceptionally friendly and attentive. He quickly brought us our drinks and chips with salsa, and made sure to refill everything as needed. The food was fantastic—the chips and salsa were delicious. I ordered the carne asada, which was very flavorful and tender. I would definitely recommend this place;... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about La Carreta:
I have loved LaCaretta for over 10 years. Today was the worst experience ever. First we wanted to sit outside and was the only guest. Was addressed and told waitress we will sit under the pavilion because it was a little cloudy. Waitress came over to take our order. It didn?t matter that she barely spoke English but she brought chips and dip and we asked for to go cups. Waitress left and never returned. Me and my gue... View all feedback.
This place is amazing! Great service, tasty margaritas, one of the best salsas I've ever tasted and LOVE their patio!
Best queso in baton rouge. I've noticed every other Mexican restaurant I've ever been to has at one point or another, watered down the queso dip in attempt to stretch it out. La Caretta is the *only* place that has never, ever done that...and being a queso lover, that is one of the reasons I love this place <br/ <br/ The shrimp fajitas are one of my favorite dishes there...also the shrimp monterrey dinner. <br/ <br/ Usually get decent service here. Margaritas are pretty darn good too.
Good food, good service, great enchiladas and awesome bean soup. Music essentially uniformly loud and awful, but it's a good restaurant when the awful bands aren't there.
Interesting. We had my sister 's bachelorette party and I was a little hesitant to host it here but they accomadated our party in a private room and it was FANTASTIC...we got as loud as we wanted!! No flaws, they were really prepared and I was worry free! I ordered their new drink the 'Mexican Disaster ' for my sister and it was quite interesting,..the beer gives this margarita a really fresh fizz. The food was quite delicious, we had the duck quesadillas and shrimp ceviche, the food came out quickly and well presented. Overall I would recommend La Carreta to anyone who is throwing a big party, or just going to eat there!!!
Amazing!. I had dinner there on Friday night and dared myself to order the Mexican Disaster! Let me just tell you, it was AWESOME!! Margarita and Beer...its like peanut butter and jelly! Who would've ever thought that?!?!?! The La Carreta queso, might be the best I've ever had! The waitress was super friendly, very attentive, they had a great atmosphere, and it was just an awesome experience!
