Contribute FeedbackThe Carnarvon Arms is a charming gastropub with a mixed reputation for its service and food quality. While some customers have expressed disappointment in the service and food standards, others have praised the delicious meals, attentive service, and friendly atmosphere. Highlights include the trout fishcakes, cauliflower soup, perfectly cooked steak, and the Sunday roast. Coeliac friendly options are available, though not explicitly marked on the menu. Overall, the Carnarvon Arms offers a pleasant dining experience, with the occasional hiccup in service or food quality.
I went to this restaurant with some friends for dinner. We all liked the food and found the prices to be reasonable. My only complaint is that I wished there was more custard with my crumble, as the half-full jug was not enough. The staff were friendly and the service was good, but I had mentioned my disability when booking online and was disappointed to find our table was down steps and far from the entrance and toilets. Additionally, there was no designated disabled parking space, which made it challenging for me as the car park was full. Because of these factors, I likely won't be returning to this restaurant.
Our first time here, and will come again. The food was lovely and the service attentive. The lounge bar looked very welcoming and cosy. Nice, friendly staff.
This charming pub offers delicious food, particularly on Sundays with their exceptional Sunday lunch menu, and the service is top-notch. I have visited many times and the quality has always been consistently excellent.
I had a wonderful time catching up with friends over a delicious meal. The restaurant was quiet yet bustling, which added to the enjoyable atmosphere. The food was excellent, with choices such as fish and chips, vegetable risotto, steak pie, and fish pie.
A nice gastropub with a friendly atmosphere. We had a good dinner and can recommend the trout fishcakes, delicious cauliflower soup and perfectly cooked steak. As well as the best chips we've had anywhere! However the mushroom arancini were disappointing, mainly because they were smothered in an over-dressed salad with an overly sweet dressing.
