Updated decor is fabulous. Mountain rustic meets restoration hardware. atmosphere fantastic! Appetizers, drinks and soup were delicious. The cocktail on the shrimp was perfect! Our dinners (Pork Chiff and grilled honey ginger shrimps) were good, but we wouldn't order them again. No honey ginger taste on the shrimps and the pork chop was ok. Definitely recommend this restaurant, will come back, but we will try another... View all feedback.

Disappointing. We were told Stonewalls was the place in Banner Elk to get a good steak. Unfortunately my husbands ribeye $35) was anything but good. The steak was so gristly, every bite was not worth fighting to get it chewed besides more fat than expected. We called our waitress Hope over to tell her how bad the steak was. She then said she had to speak to the manager Scott. She came back telling us he said all the steaks have the gristle. We told her the whole steak was unedible. She went back to the manager Scott and he came to our table . I was done with my dinner so he said he could bring a slice of prime rib. The slice he brought could not have been 4 oz, if that. The check still had the $35 charge for the ribeye that was sent back , we asked why wasn’t the bill reduced to show the less expensive meal. We had to ask to see Scott again and tell him why are we paying for something we didn’t get. He wasn’t very friendly but lowered the price to a 10 oz prime rib $28) the piece of prime rib was smaller than their least expensive 6oz $25) . Certainly not the actions of a good manager. We do have to say that Hope was an excellent server. And meal wasn’t a total loss as the fried deviled eggs , French onion soup and lobster bisque were good. The salad bar was fine. The mashed sweet potato and brussel sprouts were ok. Needless to say we do not feel the need to return to Stonewall in the future. All I can say is WOW! The ribeye was one of the best my wife has ever tasted. The filet was top notch. Also if you go, you have to try the deviled eggs. They were delicious. We went around 8:30 and had a 10 minute wait but it was so worth it. Stonewall Highly rated and recommended we stopped into this nice restaurant found on Yelp with high ratings. We started with their fresh bread, warm to the table. We did not have reservations, and they were completely booked for days. They have an outdoor patio with a fire pit going and music inside tonight at the bar. We were told a 2 hour wait, so we sat outside as the bar was not an option as they reserve the spots in the bar. Completely booked, we were given a table on the outdoor covered and closed patio with heaters. It was quite comfortable and sad we could not hear the music. If they had a little piped in music, it would have been better. However, our server Brenna made up for the lack of music. Funny and informative, we went with The Onion soup, perfectly made at the perfect temperature, and the cool thing is they give you a pair of mini scissors to cut the cheese and bread. Delicious and hearty! Then I went with the salad bar over 50 items to choose from, and it was enough to fill me up. We also had The Ribeye steak with I had a piece of and the Special of the day, Pistachio crusted trout. Oh, so delicious! We followed with the homemade cinnamon roll bread pudding. Which was flavorful but a little too stiff for my liking. It had a bourbon sauce, which could have used more for my liking. All in all the meal was terrific, wonderful atmosphere and great service! While camping near boone nc, with our daughter and family, my husband and I decided to have a date nite, alone. We chose this restaurant and can say it was top notch! Everything was perfect! Even the young lady who was taking care of us was funny and helpful. We enjoyed her so much! She had a beautiful unique name, that sadly I cannot remember...B.....? She really made our evening fun! When visiting this area, we will definitely be back! Thank you so much!
I went here with my family during our short family retreat. This was a wonderful restaurant their prime rib was highlight of our dinner everyone but Mom ordered some delicious prime rib. She got the pork chop and was blown away. We love the escargot as an appetizer and my husband and I shared the lobster bisque soup. Everything was delicious. This is our second visit and it was just as good. I love a consistent business. I'm glad I got to eat here I'm now refreshed to head back to Destin Florida to sell some houses
