Golden State Vegan Restaurant Bar

Lovely 100% vegan restaurant that serves California inspired vegan sushi seafood, Tacos and Burgers. Extensive menu with so much choice, was difficult to decide.. The manager was super helpful so I went with her recommendations of jackfruit crab cakes and the Cactus Tacos which were super tasty! They have a good drinks menu as well, serving cocktails, wines, beer, Kombucha etc. I went with the Sangria which I wouldn't normally pick but it was great! Finished off with the dark chocolate cake. All the drinks are 100% vegan as well, including the wines, so you don't need to worry, staff knowledgable. The restaurant has a really cool vibe to it, lots of mismatched furniture that just works, all very unique. Outside seating area as well. The nearest BTS is Ekkamai and it's probably a 15-20 min walk, location on google maps is accurate. The only real downside is it's pretty expensive and expect a 10% service charge on top.

Their Red&Green Dragon Roll is TOO GOOD!!! Even my friends are not a vegan but they also love this!!! And also their Crab Cakes as well MUST TRY!!! Updated from previous review on 2021-11-04

After reading the other reviews, I had much higher expectations to eat in this restaurant. I was simply unhappy with the things I have chosen, but I found the tiny portions (also according to Thai standards) rather bland and high prices (ok I get it that they 're paying for a special 'experience than a food dish, but unfortunately, for me, it just didn't come.

I went during the day and would not have required a reservation. the prices are very high, but also I never had such a special vegan sushi choice so somewhat understandable. the other sushi that I had was quite tasteless, but the other (drachen something) was simply amazing. updated by previous review on 2022-10-13

Why I didn't go earlier? great service. the sushi was delicious. noodles like Italian bucatini. I come back updated by previous review on 2022-09-17
