Very pleasantly surprised by their Christmas Fayre dinner. The quality was probably better than most hotels around Christmas time and was excellent value for £13.95. We all enjoyed our meal and had plenty to eat. Would definitely go back to their restaurant. My wife also had her eye on a very generous piece of apple pie but the dinner was so filling we skipped the dessert. View all feedback.
What sunnyd000 doesn't like about Camerons Ballymena:
10.40am fry items all out but still waited 6mins for small fry..potato bread definitely not fried+mushrooms must have been threw in a dry saucepan tasted horrible Should have ordered scone like most folk Would not recommend fry.
To start off, the setup of this restaurant counter may mislead customers into thinking it's self-service, with trays next to the hot food. Since there was no staff in sight, we began serving ourselves. Suddenly, a woman appeared out of nowhere, snatched the plate from my daughter, and returned the food she had picked out back to the Bain Marie. Without a greeting or asking if we needed assistance, she simply pointed to a sign indicating the price of a 5-piece fry for £5.50. We selected our items from a limited selection and were given a table number without a single word spoken to us. About twenty minutes later, our food arrived on a scorching hot plate, with only five measly fry items scattered on it. The food was lukewarm, the sausage was impossible to cut with a knife, and the soda bread was tough from being toasted rather than fried. We were thoroughly appalled and disappointed by the service and the quality of the food. It had been over a decade since we last visited Cameron's, and after this experience, we have no intention of returning. It's best to avoid this place altogether and opt for a hot food counter at a gas station instead.
The food was incredibly tasty, well-prepared, not greasy, and served promptly. It was just perfect.

Delicious lunch as usual. Fresh quiche with rich, crisp pastry, just perfect. Staff are so helpful, love going back here when I can.
We went for lunch but were unsure of what we wanted. Shirley who was taking our order was really helpful offering different options. We ate lunch, the coconut chicken was so moist and served with a massala sauce. Sadly no room for the famous apple pie. After a bit of shopping we returned for coffees, warmed apple pie and a pot of cream. The rich pastry is like shortbread and the pie is so well filled with fruit. Thanks for a lovely lunch, apple pie and the usual amazing service.
