The smell as you walk by defies you to try to keep walking. Fabulous wood fired pizza dough awaits. Almost doesn't matter what goes on top - it'll be lovely. Jolly good salads by Italian restaurant standards. So cheap (1.4 Euro/pound makes quite a difference.). It's a cheap and cheerful place, whose food quality belies its fast/budget style. Doesn't take cards!! View all feedback.
What Thorsten Götz doesn't like about Bella Siicilia:
My wife and I had lunch one time and we enjoyed a pizza and a nice mixed salade. The open wine is good enough, the service is very friendly, the coffee however was very bad and not even worth a euro cent....The terrace is in the evening of the best places to have a chat with some wine, beer or cold fresh drinks. Yesterday evening my wife and l had dinner at Bella Siicillia in Badenweiller. We ordered caprese salad that was good, then tagliatelle with mushroom, cherry tomato, rucula and parmesan that was a bit heavy not possible to finish the dish. When we asked to pay the bill with credit card the waiter told us that the machine was broken. I had to walk till a automatic cashier to withdraw cash to pay the bill. Bella Siicillia is ranked as 2nd best restaurant in Badenwiller. I disagree! Food was not so good, service was bellow average and not possible to pay with credit card very inconvenient. Why they have not informed upfront that the credit card machine was broken? I do not recommend this restaurant at all!
This deserves better ratings. The food is very good and it is truly authentic. The chef is from Sicily. As for the service, our waitress was excellent she too was Italia. From Venice. I had the spaghetti bolognese and my wife had a Pizza Magherita.
The food is tasty, assuming one gets what one ordered. To their credit, the staff seated us immediately even though we arrived with no reservation. To our credit, we remained seated for an interminably long time before our order was taken and again before it arrived. My wife ordered rigatoni but was served spaghetti instead. She enjoyed another wait (not so interminable) while the error was corrected. The price was the same; therefore the wait staff saw no reason to change the description on the check so we enjoyed another delay while that was explained. The staff went to great lengths to appear busy which precluded suitable service and interaction with their guests. We plan to dine elsewhere on our next Badenweiler visit.
We had lunch here. Although sun and rain exchanged places quickly we were dry under the sunscreen enjoying Aperol Spritz. My husband went to change cars (his was repaired and being brought to the hotel just a few minutes away) just as the food came so they kept it warm for him. He had pasta with seefood (a little spicy) and I had vegetarian pizza. We both were very enthusiastic. I had tiramisu for dessert, served very decorative.
