I just read some other reviews and I have to say, I’ve never experienced anything like frozen vegetables here; my meals have always been excellent. As for authenticity, I just returned from Saigon last week and can say this place hits the mark. I give it 5 stars! View all feedback.
What Arvel Bergstrom doesn't like about Banh Mi Cafe:
Not authentic Vietnamese food. Frozen vegetables. Messy presentation. Staff are helpful but don't know anything about the food. Not good at all. Beer was cold though. View all feedback.

Friendly staff on the front counter but some of the worst food I’ve had from a restaurant in recent memory. Some of the dishes felt like they were made from ingredients that had been precooked (satay beef , Others contained frozen veggies from the freezer section of the super market. Spring rolls tasted/felt like they’d been reheated after being frozen (noticing a theme here? Maybe just a bad run but I won’t be going back.
The Beef and beef balls pho was so yum with lots of meats inside. Nice flavoured soup. Honey chicken was just average. Food was served a bit slow. Will definitely go back for the pho again
Wonderful service, friendly staff always....been here several times and will keep it as our regular hangout. We normally go to Fitzroy for our Vietnamese food but this is better...highly recommend the satay... It's not your usual run of the mill dine in restaurant but hey that doesn't matter when the food is so awesome.
