This pub consistently offers delicious food and well-kept beers. It has a genuine pub atmosphere, with friendly and welcoming staff. I cannot recommend it enough, plus it is dog-friendly! In addition to Gary's fantastic cooking, highlights include Gordon's mojitos and the diverse musical playlist (not too loud, but always interesting). View all feedback.

visited the middle week for lunch. pre booked. nice main menu, but decided for lunch menu. good service and good choice of beer. eating was as always excellent and well presented. good value for money. beautiful traditional pub with a fresh welcoming feeling. is just critique. that the parking space is always a mud. Really nice pub, and actually much bigger inside than I thought. there were 6 in our party and the menu selection looked great. until we have informed us that 3 items from the main menu (including the veggie option) have been sold out. Not big when I'm not eating meat. but I don't really see how the other diner should affect? not as if we just showed up without booking? the waitress asked the cook very kindly whether he could make one of the appetizers bigger and he agreed....but I had nothing to do. the only other on the menu was an onion bhaji burger. I don't eat brot, so I had in the grunde a wobble bhaji, chips and salat for £13! don't get me wrong, it was nice. I ate it... just a little nap. I hate complaining, so I did the British thing to say nothing. I would visit again...yes I would say absolutely nothing more? absolutely not.
This is a truly lovely village pub. The customers are friendly the food is exceptional., they serve local brewery ales. There is a great beer garden. All in all it’s a great place. One personal downfall is that, as local resident and regular, I let...my self down on a single occasion. I have written emails, Facebook messages and even phoned the pub to apologise. The pub has not responded at all. I accept my responsibility and fully accept if the pub doesn’t want my custom. However I feel the one poor choice by a customer may deserve a little more leniency after a 6 week period away and multiple apologies. In summary, I 100% recommend The Unicorn but advise very best behaviour
I am writing this for my mum as when she tried she had difficulty logging in. Delicious food and friendly and welcoming staff. Lovely atmosphere and catch up and we stayed over three hours.
Popped in for a midweek meal on Wednesday and had a great meal with excellent service. Nice pub with a good atmosphere, will be returning.
We had a two course meal here last night. The restaurant wasn’t busy. It was warm and cosy, with a central fire. The food was excellent, and well presented. We will return.
