What Howlo doesn't like about The Hayloft Tearoom:
Have visited the shop a few times as the range of products is very good, the tea room is ok, but a little soulless. Food choice is fairly average along with prices, in all a bit disappointing. View all feedback.

I took my family for lunch on a Saturday to celebrate my birthday, having booked in advance (strongly recommended). There were seven of us and between us, we had a variety of starters, mains and desserts. Everybody enjoyed everything. It is home style cooking that is simple but done well. Some people might look down their nose at tomato soup, but this tomato soup was to die for. Superb! Likewise, the macaroni cheese, which was hot and nicely 'cheesy ' full of flavour. I finished with the sticky toffee pudding which was hot and delicious with plenty of sauce and a scoop of ice cream. Considering how busy they were, the service was friendly and fairly prompt.
We visited to see the Reindeer visit, and phoned ahead to book for breakfast. Although with a special event on, the breakfast was of a high standard with lovely home produced products. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had the Hayloft breakfast 7.95 which was more than adequate, although for the larger appetite there is the full Boycott 11.75
I went to this restaurant for breakfast today and ordered the Full Boycott for £11.95. The bacon tasted like it was going off with a sour taste, and the rashers were quite fatty. I asked for the bacon to be cooked crispy, but it came back on the same plate after 10 minutes with my eggs cold. The waitress did not replace the food with a fresh plate. I also noticed that the fat had been trimmed off the bacon, and I didn't think it was fresh. We were recommended this place by friends and planned to spend £30-£40 in the farm shop, but we left after paying. My breakfast was taken off the bill without any apologies. The toast was barely warm and the butter seemed like some sort of spread. When I asked the waitress, she said it was butter, but it didn't seem like it. Overall, I believe this place needs to improve its quality. I will not be returning as it is not worth the money.
