While many patrons praise its inviting atmosphere and attentive staff, experiences vary significantly. Some diners report disappointment with overpriced and mediocre food, particularly the sausages and desserts, alongside inconsistent service. Others celebrate delightful meals and friendly interactions, highlighting standout dishes like the chorizo scotch egg and gourmet pizzas. Although its ambiance and space are well-loved, recent reviews reflect a decline in quality and customer service that has led some long-time visitors to rethink their loyalty. Overall, the potential for a memorable visit remains, but with caveats.
I chose the chorizo Scotch eggs for start, bacon and cheese house burgers for main and banana sundae for dessert. Overall, the food was nice with a great atmosphere and the staff was very attentive to always check the food was good and on the hand for your next drink.
Absolutely amazing food. Service phenomenal. Cant wait for the next time
A really nice building, simple parking and a cheap menu with a very decent desert menu.
Had a nice birthday dinner. Many people, but the service was on the point. The food was enjoyed by all, but the sharing plates for beginners were worth a special mention. Relaxed in the garden for drinks after eating where the children could play without foot. Very recommended.
Lots of parking, electric car charging point and wheelchair accessible. Always a great welcome from the host and a lovely atmosphere. The bar selection is vast with a great selection of wines by the glass. Great beer selection and very knowledgeable bartenders. Always had great service from the waiting staff who are attentive and efficient. The food is always a delight and the Sunday roasts are fantastic! Advice booking to avoid disappointment as they do get busy.
