Very authentic and friendly food and experience. After 2 weeks in France, this was the first dinner we had that was loaded with vegetables, fresh from the market the same day! The quality of the food was above and beyond, and while we spoke limited French were able to communicate with the restaurant owners in a truly genuine way. Five or so years ago this was probably the best restaurant in Avignon. Certainly the most interesting. Clearly a brilliant and maniacal chef was bought out, or whatever, and this rancid, overpriced joke/remnant is all that remains. The chef 's suprise pseudo menu (tell the waitress what...you like, and don 't like, and, voila! A magical meal will appear!!! is surprising only in the overcooked awfulness of every dish... Excellent ambience, great service and delicious food and everything for a very good price. In any case it is worth a return journey at a given time when we are next in Avignon.
