What Glen Boyle doesn't like about Russell's Bistro:
I really want Russell's to succeed because West Austin needs a good restaurant. My husband and I enjoy their delicious Anderson coffee from next door. They also have tasty baked goods. However, the lunch menu is lacking and the service can be poor. We decided to give Russell's another chance for dinner last night. I ordered vegetable sides, which were all tasty. My husband ordered the pork, which came with mashed pot... View all feedback. What Agustin Shanahan likes about Russell's Bistro:
Very good brunch. Had the spinach benedict very well done. GF had the chicken salad, which was excellent We had a problem with an OpenTable gift cert, which was partially my fault for not doing due diligence, but the manager (black hair with beard/mustache didn't catch his name) was really gracious, giving us some coffee and pastries as a bit of compensation. read moreRussell's is a restaurant in West Austin that has a lot of potential but falls short in several areas. The coffee from Anderson next door is delicious, and the baked goods are nice. However, the lunch menu is lacking, and the service can be subpar. Some diners have had issues with their meals, including unappetizing presentations and lukewarm dishes. The ribeye is a highlight, but other items like the potatoes and side dishes may not hit the mark. The cocktails and service at the bar have also received negative feedback. While some patrons appreciate the covered outdoor dining area and location next to Andersen's Coffee, others have felt let down by their experiences. Despite some positive comments about the Brussel sprouts with blueberries and dishes like Eggs Benedict, overall, reviews for Russell's are mixed, making it a place that some customers may want to give a try while others may want to steer clear.
