Our server Kim was great. The place is beautiful, needs a small upgrade. I ordered the beef pot with a delicious red wine sauce. The Parmesan Crusted Chicken Pasta was also good.
My girlfriend and I tried this place out for the first time and was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. I had the Bacon Avocado Sourdough Burger and she had the Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich. Instead of fries she got the tomato basil soup and really enjoyed it. The burger was juicy and cooked just right. Fries can be hit or miss at most restaurants but these were pretty good. The waiter we had wasn't all that great but that won't stop us from going back as there are a few more things on the menu we'd like to try.
A good place for brunch even though I think it's a little overpriced. The service was a bit slow but the food was pretty good. Their mimosas are great! I would probably visit again.
I am giving Mimi’s Cafe a 3 start because of the service level (at this location). Others have been a 4! The food is really good and tasty and the ambiance is very accommodating and pleasant. Sadly the service is not meeting the standards it should! In one of my visits I asked if the OJ was freshly squeezed and the waiter said yes. So I ordered one. I received a concentrated orange juice and was I asked him he said it was written “natural orange juice” in the box. No kidding! In other visits there were issues as well such as taking a loooong time to bring the order and no update from the server. Now, about the food again: it has always been great in my experience. The coffee, especially the cafe au lait, is great! I want to specifically talk about the beef liver meal. I love it that they have that in the menu. Very few restaurants serve beef liver. For people who, like me, have iron deficiency or anemia and love to go out to eat, it’s fabulous to open a menu and see that you can order beef liver and a side of spinach. I hope that they eventually give the service an improvement.
Service was good. The place was empty but still took about 20 min to get our food. I did however order a steak. The steak was tasty and cooked correctly but for a 28 day aged NY strip steak, it was a tad dry and a bit chewy. The eggs were cooked nicely, however the fries were all limp and seemed under cooked. My preference is to cook the fries longer until they are crispy. If you hold one and they stay straight and firm, they are done. My wife's order had an issue and we had to flag down a server to assist. They helped out promptly. My other concern was when peering into the kitchen, some of the people preparing and handling (touching the food while plating) were not wearing sanitation gloves. Not sure if this is allowed or not, but didn't seem sanitary to me. Overall an average experience equivalent to Village Inn.
