The prices are incredibly affordable, the food is absolutely delicious, and the interior is very cozy. The Ranchero sauce is quite spicy, so only go for it if you can handle the heat! I ordered the deluxe breakfast plate with pork chops. View all feedback.
What Cole Adams doesn't like about Habanero Cafe:
The food is decent, but it has noticeably declined over the years. The service is terrible; the person at the front desk was quite rude. Additionally, I witnessed them ask a blind man to leave simply because he had a service dog. I can’t recommend this place. View all feedback.
If you?re looking for some authentic Mexican food that?s affordable, this is the restaurant for you! The best Mexican food I?ve had from all the Mexican restaurants I?ve tried. This was almost as good as my mom?s food. The waitresses were all very sweetand helpful. I had the al pastor torta, and the meat was delicious! Definitely the best Al Pastor I?ve had at a restaurant (notjoking). It wasn?t oily and the pieces were big. My boyfriend had el patron and it was very good. The beef fajita was sooooflavorful. His mom had the ground beef tostadas and she really liked it. His grandfather had the chicken enchiladas and alsoreally enjoyed his food. Like I mentioned earlier, the prices are very affordable and aren?t crazy expensive like most places. The inside of the restaurant was very small and a little warm but that wasn?t a problem. The restaurant felt really homey andwelcoming. I will definitely stop by the next time I?m in town! I will say that the lemonade was really sweet. Another thing,we were told to wait outside even though there were enough chairs for us to sit inside. A few more people came in and they wereallowed to sit inside, so I don?t understand what that was about. That was the only negative part.
This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Austin. We moved to Oregon a few years ago, but make it a point to come here at LEAST once when we visit. The salsa is the perfect balance of heat flavor. Every dish is absolutely delicious. The Chile relleno isthe best I?ve ever had. The staff is always friendly wonderful. You will never want for a refill on your drink!
This place pretty much made our trip to Austin! My husband and I were looking for a tasty mexican restaurant with excellent food...and they did not disappoint.<br/ <br/ Service was fast and the waitress was super nice. Chips and salsa were killer! Lots of spice but not too spicy. <br/ <br/ I had the veggie enchiladas with verde sauce which was AMAZING. My husband had the chicken enchiladas with red sauce. Both were exceptional! Definitely some of the absolute best eats I've had in Austin.
Great Mexican Food. Mexican food, NOT TEX MEX, thank God. Consistantly good food, low prices, excellent service. We have eaten here at least once a week, every week for the last 2 years. They had an excellent Lenten Menu, vegetable enchiladas with green sauce are outstanding. Barbacoa is excellent. Daily lunch specials are some of the best lunch deals in all of Austin. I'll be sorry posting this as I'll have to wait longer to get a table, but this place is a true Austin gem!!!
I'm in heaven everytime I order my favorite Steak Ranchero. Yes, it can get quite spicy, but all I do is set aside the slices of habaneros and I'm good to go. The fajitas are awesome as is the chile relleno. My wife loves their chile colorado. I've also ordered and loved their cheese enchiladas. Love their salsa chips and their service is great with Rosie the rest of the girls.
