This restaurant is always a hit. Their tasting menus and service are outstanding. My only complaint would be the prices. Currently $115 for their tasting menu but if you can spare it you will definitely enjoy the experience. Drinks a bit on the higher end too but again they are tasty. Just a refreshing change from regular menu dining. There were 3 of us so thats why you see 3 items on the plates in some of the pictur... View all feedback.
What Haley Bui doesn't like about Barley Swine:
Great experience, amazing food in ant portion but we did leave decently full. Probably not going back because for the same amount of money, an omakase at Uchiko seems like a better deal. View all feedback.
Such a great experience and wonderful food. came here with one of my best friends for our friend series or something like this Lol and we loved it. Our waitress Savannah was fantastic and super attentive. I hope to come back with my husband! Very recommended!
Chef’s tasting menu- Most delicious meal I’ve ever had.
We were absolutely blown away by the quality of the dishes. The yellowtail, halibut, duck, and ribeye were all to absolutely die for. Dessert was equally amazing and the wine paired perfectly. Rina did an amazing job as our server. Definitely a MUST for any foodie.
Nice place, the music was very moderate so we could speak easily. I found the early dishes quite good, fresh and lemony. The second half was heavier and too salty for my taste. For the price point, I was expecting the service to be invisible but they were nice and knowledgeable. The parking situation is bad. Consider ubering if you come at a busy time.
This was my second time to Barley Swine. It was such an enjoyable time. It’s so fun to get all the surprises from the kitchen. Such unique flavors. My son and I agreed, our least favorite menu item was the rib eye this time. I guess they can’t be perfect! We added the dumplings as an extra to the tasting menu, had a couple of cocktails a piece and coffee with dessert. The final bill was a blow to the pocket book but so thankful for the opportunity to dine at such an Austin staple.
