Ai Lares is a promise, it was my second time there, first was with my Italian friends that invite to share this amazing location place in the middle of a wood. The menu is a classic local food. Quality and passion on the research of flavors. Forget wine list they have only great Red Cabernet or white wine their local choice, but perfect with the dishes they offer you. Tagliolini With Porcini mushrooms is a journey! T... View all feedback.
What Agostino Martinelli doesn't like about Ai Lares:
I grew up in Italy, and visit this part on the country pretty regularly. I love the simple, yet unique flavors of the local cuisine. That said, I believe Ai Lares is way overrated. Yes, the food is fine, and service is friendly and prompt. However, the restaurant is a 20-minute drive from Auronzo, on a twisty mountain road. I doubt there is no restaurant in Auronzo that serves similar food of comparable quality. In S... View all feedback.
Me and my boyfriend have supper in this farm and we found ourselves very well! The room is rustic and welcoming! We tasted the casunziei with stuffed potatoes and the roll of potatoes and speck with smoked ricotta and they were both very good! we then split the gulasch with polenta and finally we tasted the strudel and the ricotta cake all very good! With bread and covered per person) we spent excellent value for money! Very kind and helpful staff! Only sin, perhaps, is the service a little too fast! But very recommended!
We have come back sometimes, despite the ten bends to face from auronzo, for me a little challenging: already this should say how much we liked it! we have supper both outside, mountain view (but too fresh), and inside both rooms. I tried the roll of potatoes with speck, caneders with butter and cotechino with potato cadorine. It's amazing. also the meats served with appetizer cutter. friendly and fast service. I'd eat every night if I could!
Simple and very friendly farm. generous and very good dishes. If there's a chance, we won't hesitate to come back.
Family run business, accurate and fast service, for dinner they will accommodate you on two shifts. I don't think you can find any better value in the area for authentic home made food: everything is so tasty, from starters to dessert. Went there twice in less than a week and tried cold cut and cheese platter, casonzei, piatto del pastore, millefoglie and strudel. Yummy!
Since march I'm living in Auronzo and so many times thought about going to ai lares. It was finally time and it definitely did not disappoint. The food is very good and served in nice big portions. The house wine is tasty. 100% recommended!
