The air conditioner needs to work. As the place filled up, the fans did not work. It was hard to enjoy he food due to the heat. We have been to the restaurant three times, and the last two times, the air conditioner has not worked. With the garage door opened, we had to swap a fly away from food and table. Also, as a family, we would like to eat together. Each time we been to restaurant, the food would not come out to... What User doesn't like about Spice House:
The food was decent, but the dessert (keycake) was oily. They were out of two things we demanded incubators and mango cakes. The restaurant has no air conditioning, or so it felt, so it is very hot inside. We told the waitress, but she said there was nothing she could do because they had the thermostats as high as possible. (Our dresses were shattered in sweats) View all feedback.
This was definitely a great find! From what we have heard normally it is packed out but we came at the perfect time, it was only a few of us in there. Very clean and great atmosphere. We got a hooka with the suggested flavors of blue mist and pineapple, it was great. The food came out fresh and hot and full of flavor. Definitely would love to see the night life. Drinks were great!
The standout aspect for me was the flavors of the dishes. The restaurant offered a variety of vegan options that were delicious, well-portioned, and served hot and fresh. This is essential for me when dining out. We visited on a weekday and the restaurant was not crowded, resulting in quick and efficient service.
I had a Rum punch to drink, fried green tomatoes, and the SH salad with salmon to eat. The salad consisted of lettuce, cucumber slices with grape tomatoes on top, and sliced white onion. The salmon was well-seasoned but slightly overcooked. It's worth noting that the menu differed slightly from what was shown online, so it's best not to plan your order in advance. One drawback was that a 20% gratuity was automatically added to all checks, and only two cards could be used to pay. They do not split the bill for larger groups, so be prepared to pay with cash or use Cash App to settle with friends. Overall, the atmosphere was pleasant, the food was decent, and the drinks were average. I had a good time, but I likely won't return due to being underwhelmed by the food. I give it four stars for the enjoyable experience, great atmosphere, and friendly staff.
If you're searching for a hidden gem, look no further than this restaurant. From the moment you walk in, you'll be greeted with a smile and some of the best southern hospitality. We were promptly seated upon our arrival and our drinks and food were delivered in just about ten minutes after ordering. I opted for the oxtails with rice, peas, and cabbage, and I was blown away by both the presentation and taste. Every bite was delicious, with the perfect amount of seasoning to leave me wanting more. I cannot recommend this experience enough - you have to try it for yourself. We visited during the day, so there wasn't a crowd, and the atmosphere was fantastic. Don't forget to try the egg rolls while you wait. Huge thanks to everyone who made our visit so memorable. We will definitely be returning as regular customers. Signed, Your New Regulars.
The owner invited me back to the Spice House for another opportunity to have a better experience. It was wonderful. They prepared the Turkey wing dinner again and it was amazing. Great portions, tender and flavorful as expected. Thank you for your level of customer service and I will return to try more of your specialized cuisines
