Lovely old pub, campsite adjoining, electric hook up if required, great value for money, overlooking Carsington Water, fantastic views, could do with a lick of paint and a tidy up in places, but still a lovely place. Plenty of parking in car park. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 View all feedback.
What Laura Stockwell doesn't like about The Knockerdown Inn:
Stayed on the campsite with beautiful views. Free camping or £10 for electric hook up. Sadly the inn is closed Monday and Tuesday so we didn't get to sample their great menu. Price per person: £1–10 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 View all feedback.
Superb pub and camping the bar manager is superb even under pressure Steaks were excellent. Dog friendly we will return Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Food was hot, fresh and tasty! There was a wait, but the restaurant was full and they were still willing to fit us in as a takeaway order as we were camping on site. Due to delays, manageress offered us a free drink, but we politely declined as they were kind enough to accomodate us and it was 100% our fault for not booking in! The team were obviously super busy and trying to multitask, but were pleasant even with some difficult customers and a lot of dogs! A proper pub with good food, reasonable prices, log burners and games would absolutely come again.

The Knockerdown is a lovely pub great atmosphere and lovely staff. The camping not so good. The field was very wet with numerous cars and vans having to be pushed out. Thank goodness for a couple of men who seemed to have the job of doing it. Felt like it was a bit of a find your pitch and do what you want. Fire pits not allowed, there were 2 last night. Next to us was a group of teenagers smoking and drinking until 3 in the morning. Kids running around all hours of the night. I used the shower but only because I needed to. It was warm but that is the only positive. Relying on customers to clean it themselves is never going to work. Cheap weekend away and will stick to adult only from now on.
