Description

Step back to 1962 at this old‑fashioned, Santa Anita Derby‑themed steakhouse and bakery where dark wood booths and nostalgic decor set the scene for excellent steaks, a classic wedge salad and memorable desserts. The cupcakes are oversized, moist and inventive—think red velvet, German chocolate and wild toppings from brownies to Hot Cheetos—while owners and staff are friendly and hygienic. Ideal for date nights, birthdays or a sweet detour on a road trip, the small space feels cozy and delightfully timeless.

This restaurant has a fun, old-fashioned steakhouse vibe with a Santa Anita Derby theme. The steaks are excellent, and the wedge salad and desserts are delicious. You can enjoy your meal in cozy booths or at tables surrounded by dark wood decor. Dining here feels like taking a step back to 1962, and it's a great place for a nice dinner!

I've been ordering birthday cupcakes for my daughter from this place for 5 years now. It's definitely my go-to spot whenever I'm in the mood for something sweet. The owners and staff are incredibly kind, and I love that the cupcakes are always fresh and come in a wide range of flavors!

Walking in, you are instantly greeted by the heavenly aroma of sweet, delicious cake—it's exactly what I imagine heaven smells like. The space may be small, but the team does a great job with social distancing. Everyone is wearing masks, and there’s a hand sanitizing station by the entrance and at the register. All the cupcakes are displayed behind glass, and the cold treats are kept in a clear fridge. While those frosted cakes looked tempting, we were definitely there for the legendary cupcakes, which are infamous throughout the Valley. We selected a dozen flavors, with just one duplicate: the lemon blueberry. These cupcakes are massive—about the size of a muffin—and incredibly dense and moist. They maintain that classic cupcake flavor without veering too much into muffin territory. With unique toppings like HOT CHEETOS (yes, really!), decadent brownies, cherries, and even candy corn (not every topping can be a winner), there’s something for everyone. My absolute favorites, in no particular order, were the red velvet (a classic, rich in flavor), strawberry (not overly sweet, yet still fruity), German chocolate (absolutely amazing), and the chocolate cupcake topped with a huge brownie (perfect for chocolate lovers). I loved them so much that I made another stop before my drive back to San Antonio. The four-and-a-half-hour drive was almost torturous, with that intoxicating smell wafting through the car. You can bet I dove into one the moment I got home!

I ate out at a restaurant and saw the cupcakes there by the register which I've seen somewhere else I believe it was Angelitas cafe. I didn't think much when buying the cupcake I guess I just bought it to try it out since ive seen it before lol. But to my surprise when I got home I took a bite and it was so delicious! The cream cheese is to die for! I had only gotten 1 so I had to stop myself before I finished the cupcake. I believe the one I got was the jumbo cupcake which goes for $4? But it's so worth it! Not the mention the lemonade they have at store, so delicious and sweet. If you have a sweet tooth this is deFinitely the place to go!
