The New Trinidad - Arboleas

Great place for live music, friendly hosts and staff. Food is great and prices are keen. We go at least twice each time we visit.

Happy to find the restaurant unexpected place at the top of a hill) and be able to sit in the sun. Friendly lady came out and offered us a choice of fish and chips or hamburgers. We chose a 'medium ' fish and chips and it was good- crisp batter and tasty chips. No idea if this is what they always offer or whether they do other food, but it hit the spot at the time.

Very good food at very good prices. Had weekday dinner and a Sunday roast here and all was delicious. Service excellent and very friendly. Large portions so beware. Would definitely recommend and will be returning also

CURRY NIGHT BUT NO CURRY !, We went on a quiet weds night which was a curry night and we pre booked ? We arrived at 8:30pm and was asked to look at the blackboard with a selection of various meals and at the bottom of blackboard it had chicken curry and I was then told curry is now gone. Why I do not know as when we arrived there was a table of 6 not eating and moaning when is the food going to arrive. Another table of 5 awaiting for order to be placed And we heard that they wanted to order curry but was told all gone. So they left. Eventually after about 30 minutes a waitress who looked like she did not want to be there took our order. As no curry my wife ordered a lasagne and chips and I ordered a steak , not even asked how I wanted it cooked. I had to eventually had to say how I wanted it. I requested med/ well It took at least another 30 minutes to arrive , My wife’s Lasagna was tasteless and chips not fully cooked and my steak was tough and lots of blood in the thicket part of the steak. We can see why there was a distinct lack of customers. The only positive was the view over the mountains. We will not be dining here again.

We have visited Trinidad many times and always have had excellent service and food. Bev, Trev and Lorraine are very welcoming and hospitable. Lovely meals including fish and chips, curry night and pies. Definitely recommend!
