Not particularly polished or refined but serves perfectly pleasant and homely food. They've got an interesting house speciality which involves putting a heater on your table and sticking a large lump of cheese under it to melt for you to then use bread to dip into the melted cheese. I had the beef steak which was delicious. Restaurant is very small and service was a little bit slow but nonetheless well worth a visit. View all feedback.
What Emmanuel Moulin doesn't like about Le Neve:
Visited last week whilst enjoying a weeks skiing in Les Carroz. The food was generally pretty good the crepes we had for dessert were without doubt the very best any of us had ever eaten. The food is very average at best. The service is very so so. The main door keeps slamming, which is very annoying. Not a good atmosphere. I come to les Carroz very often and won't be visiting again.
We had a bad experience at Le Neve some time ago. But, willing to give it another go, I booked for dinner for 3 of us in advance. Arriving on time, we were squeezed into a table with little welcome. No mention that only half the menu would be available. We ordered 2 bavettes And 1 diots. Apparently not available because there was only one cook. Asked for a chicken dish. Also not available. Ordered 3 escalope de poulets. After a long time, we were informed this was also not an option. So what IS there? Tartiflettes, galettes ... OK let’s have 3 galettes savoyarde (ie galette with tartiflette). An hour after first arriving, we were informed these are also not available. We left and refused to pay for the bottle of Rousette. Thankfully the waitress did not try to charge us. Meanwhile people around us had been served galettes, tartiflettes, and various other dishes. Racist against les Rosbifs ? Well we are Scottish and speak French so not sure that was the case. Just really, really bad service. We won’t go again. Ever. Suggest you go somewhere else too. As per the subject for this post THE worst restaurant experience we have ever had, in any country.
Excellent! irreproachable and attentive service. Even alone, I was able to enjoy an excellent savoyard fondue!
Comfortable restaurant, very good atmosphere, the waitress is amazing and makeleine is excellent! I recommend!
