I really like this place! Being a food court sushi place, their quality is actually really nice. Although over the year their quality has visibly dropped, it's still quite nice for what you pay for. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30 View all feedback.
What Alexis Sánchez doesn't like about Suny Sushi:
Quality has sadly gone down recently. Ordered the Yami Yami jumbo and it was missing the crab, salmon, and had cream cheese in it. None of which makes up a Yami Yami jumbo. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30 View all feedback.
As the least picky person on the planet, I was only able to get a few bites down. Do not recommend.
I've been here a number of times and finally tried the negitoro hand roll. It's a winner! Hands down the best low-key sushi joint in the area. The fish is consistently fresh and nothing deters you from trying the more intricate or elaborate options.
Excellent quality, value, and service. Suny sushi is a small food court stall but it is well worth a visit. The sushi is so fresh and clean, it melts in your mouth. The place itself has friendly staff and shared seating at the food court
This is a great sushi spot. Very underrated, but a hidden gem inside K Market. I've ordered multiple times and recently got take away for a salmon and sushi bento box, an order of temaki hand rolls, and a plain old California roll. Great quality, and delicious. If you're looking for good sushi and don't need a fancy atmosphere, go to SUNY. I'd rate the quality almost as good as Ariake, but for the value and taste, SUNY deserves a good rating. Vegetarian options: All the typical veggie rolls. Kid-friendliness: Lots of kids and families busily dining in the cafeteria. Parking: Just park outside the K Market. Far enough away from the Block to find a spot. Wheelchair accessibility: Tight maneuvers inside K Market, like any grocery store. But overall open spaces. Service: Take out Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3 Recommended dishes: Tuna Roll, Bento Parking space Plenty of parking Parking options Free parking lot
I would not recommend this establishment unless you are completely ignorant about sushi and what it should be. The shari of the nigiri must be seasoned with Yokoi akazu and formed with a gentle touch so that the individual pearl-like grains of the rice must disburse evenly as you take the initial bite of the nigiri. That being said, don't expect much. The rice is cold, congealed, and basically unseasoned. On top of that, lackluster protein which includes the shrimp which is not deveined. If you have the means, please go to a proper establishment that serves true edomae sushi that is crafted with care. This involves hundreds of dollars but it is well worth the price.
