Beautiful Club with an awesome gym and pool. The casual bar upstairs has delicious food. The more formal dining room could use some more variety in entree selections. View all feedback.
What Jeremy Hamilton doesn't like about Angel Fire Country Club:
Beautiful golf course!!!! Very unprofessional customer service when I booked a tee time. When I booked I book two cause we had 5 players. We show up a week later to play they don’t have it down . Tell us it will be fine go have fun. So they took our money then we get out there and they say yall play together it’s fine no less then 10 minutes they come tells us we can’t do that. So now there is a group behind us so I... View all feedback.
Course layout is challenging but the views are stunning and conditions are almost perfect. They can't help the tracks made by deer and such but there's not much more majestic than 15+ deer or occasional bear walking across your fairway. Rough not unmanageable but tough. Greens run true. Beverage carts run frequently. Staff are super friendly.

It was with considerable anticipation that we embarked on our dinner adventure at the renowned Angel Fire Country Club. But as the saying goes, anticipation often leads to disappointment. In our case, it was a bitter cocktail of unmet expectations, lackluster service, and underwhelming food. First, let's discuss the initial impression. The Angel Fire Country Club has a visually arresting setting. Sitting on the balcony, one can marvel at the breathtaking vista of a sun setting over the mountains, coloring the sky with warm hues. The club's facility exudes charm and elegance, beautifully adorned to match its picturesque surroundings. However, our awe was short lived as we were met with a stifling indoor heat wave. For a place where summer temperatures cruise in the mid 80's, the inexplicable absence of air conditioning was utterly disappointing. Service was a critical factor that sadly, fell significantly short of expectations. It was clear that the restaurant was understaffed on the night, leading to an extended wait time for seating and notable delays throughout the evening. Our server, Matt, was a beacon of warmth and professionalism in this ocean of chaos. Despite seeming overwhelmed, he handled the situation as best as he could. Regrettably, it wasn't enough to compensate for the facility's systemic failures. The food presented an equally perplexing case of contradictions. My Water Chicken Gumbo arrived in a timely manner but fell short in temperature and presentation, initially missing a spoon. The manager, Cody, was swift in rectifying the error, but the lukewarm dish and rock hard bread were significant letdowns. The main courses served a bitter lesson in culinary mishaps. The Wagyu Skillet Skirt Steak, despite its hefty $46 price tag, was devoid of flavor and was alarmingly served cold and overcooked. The Texas Two Step, another disappointment at $44, showcased a diminutive chicken leg instead of a promised chicken breast and failed to deliver on its lobster, cheese, and sauce elements. It's worth mentioning that the mashed potatoes were flavorful and nicely textured, a silver lining in an otherwise clouded dining sky, but the grilled vegetables were undercooked, flavorless, and cold. The Atwater Chicken Fried Elk, priced at $52, was the standout dish of the evening, delivering on taste and temperature. In the spirit of rectifying the glaring issues with our main courses, the restaurant removed the two cold meals from our bill and offered us a free dessert and additional wine. We turned down the wine and opted for the Bread Pudding for dessert, hoping for a saving grace. Alas, what we received was an ice cold, hard bread disaster, further cementing our disappointment. Reflecting on the experience, it's clear that the Angel Fire Country Club has immense potential. Its spectacular location, paired with the aesthetic beauty of the facility, paints a portrait of perfect dining experience. Yet, the reality is starkly different. The issues that plagued our visit understaffing, inconsistent food quality, and the lack of climate control are significant problems that need to be addressed. Despite the commendable efforts of staff like Matt and Cody, who were obviously doing their best under challenging circumstances, I'm left with a bitter taste in my mouth quite literally and figuratively. If I were to recommend Angel Fire Country Club to others at this point, I would have to advise caution. I can only hope that our experience was an anomaly and that the management takes steps to rectify these concerns promptly. For now, I believe that the stunning view from the balcony is best enjoyed with a packed dinner from home.
My son and I came to play tennis/pickleball and we wanted to get a milkshake afterwards. The problem was that we forgot our wallet. Jimmy, tennis pro, offered to give us $20 to get milkshakes! We Venmo’d him back but got cash for the country club. Super kind of him! Plus, we had an awesome time playing pickleball and tennis. Thanks Jimmy!
Top notch food, great service, and gorgeous decor. If you are in Angel Fire, have at least one meal here. Amazing!
