Bob-Lo Island Beach House Restaurant

Our dining experience at this restaurant on Boblo Island turned a beautiful summer day into a disappointment. Upon arrival, we were surprised to see a chalkboard sign stating "Cash Only" as we typically only use cards due to the pandemic. When we asked about an ATM, we were told there wasn't one available. Despite having American cash, we were told they couldn't accept it and that the exchange rate would be the same as Canadian currency. Despite trying to call in advance, we were met with unhelpful responses and ultimately only offered the option to pay via e-transfer. It was a frustrating experience and we won't be returning.

This restaurant is permanently closed. The ice cream shop and pool on the island are also closed. New houses have been built in the area. That's all.

I used to visit a restaurant on the island for a fun meal with a view of the river, but the quality just isn't there. It's the only restaurant on the island, so I assume the homeowners would want a good dining option.

The atmosphere was very relaxed and fun. They had a band playing in the corner outside and it was nice to sit and look out at the boats go by. The food portions are quite large and the food was very good! Prices are a...little higher but the portion sizes reflect this. You could easily share a meal, especially the nachos.

Came for a 6:00 dinner. we were seated quickly and drink orders were taken immediately. Nice waitress we both had steak which was cooked just right (medium-rare). and an appetizer of calamari. Had a nice time. Patio entertainment was fun. We will be back.
