Daily prices are cheap, like around 13 to 14 bucks for lunch time. Dinner/brunch prices are around 16 to 17. The dinner/brunch times are the best, they have a wide variety of eastern and western meal options. The guys that work the grille are extremely fast and friendly. The young man that seats everyone is awesome, and the daily lunch/dinner server is on point. When they know it's going to be busy they are even more... View all feedback.
What Ethan O doesn't like about W & Z Mongolian Buffet:
I downloaded Yelp to write this review. Unfortunately, the food was a major letdown. Limited options made it challenging to find something appealing, and the presentation also lacked appeal. The service was not great, the gentleman was very rude, felt very rushed, and was also upset with the absence of basic condiments like soy sauce, sugar, or salt. This is by far the best Mongolian grill I've been to. First the service. Every single time I've been here the service has been stellar. There are few waitresses that have remember me, even when it's been months/years between visits. Comparing apples to apples, on the Mongalian grill selection, this restaurant has a better variety compared to HuHot. There is shrimp and the sauce selection is spicier! With that out of the way, let's see where this restaurant pulls ahead. It has a full selection of what you would find at most Chinese buffets, and in my opinion of much better quality. Then you have Louisiana style crawfish, and then to top it off a Sushi bar. It might not be a fancy Sushi bar, but for the price it's better than Fuji if you like Sushi rolls. And did I mention, you get all that for a cheaper price than HuHot. Whenever I'm in Ames, I make Mongolian Buffet one of my top choices to eat.
Can't legitimately write anything about this place based solely not on having entered the parking lot to see that it looks to be an abandoned or at least a poorly maintained but (as if) still open place to contract salmonella or similar. The exterior is so sorry in appearance that it is highly unlikely that it is still open for victims. The extensive and detailed history of reviews suggest this was a good place a decade ago, but as recently as just pre pandemic it has declined. I was positive I'd posted this ages ago when I first took the photo and wrote whatever relative word I had at that time.

Save your money.
I used to go here every day but it changed because the food was gross the shrimp smelled like feet the wait time was like5 minutes staff were ok I give them 4/10.
The grill is the best part for this restaurant. Buffet selections are average; as is the service. Restrooms need Serious Attention (cleanliness remodeling)!!
