We ate here with family last Sunday and enjoyed a very good carvery meal. There was a wide selection of roasts and vegetables so no need for anyone to go hungry. The prices are very reasonable and it’s no surprise that it gets very busy so prior booking is advisable. The Codnor Castle Inn is now under new management and improvements are being made to the place every week. Highly recommended. View all feedback.
What kellb111 doesn't like about Castle Inn Codnor:
Went in January for a family meal and the food was nice but the new manager is very abrupt and not very customer friendly. I was a regular visitor with the previous owner but due to not feeling welcome or like a valued customer I won’t step foot in the place again. Prices also gone up and is quite expensive now. Shame as I got married there and have happy memories. View all feedback.
Our local bowls club organized a pre-Christmas lunch for a large group, and we were delighted with the experience. The meal included a two-course option, with a starter and main course, and the option to add on a dessert for an extra cost. The main course was a buffet carvery featuring four meat options - turkey, beef, pork, and lamb - allowing guests to choose two. Alongside the meats were a variety of vegetables to complement the meal. The carvery chef was generous with portions, and the quality of the food was top-notch. Overall, we had a fantastic meal and would highly recommend it to others.
It has been a while since we last visited the golf club, but the new owner of the restaurant has really transformed it into a top spot for Sunday carvery in the local area. The decor is charming and the food, from the meat to the mashed potatoes, was excellent. The staff were all friendly, polite, and lovely. Great job, keep up the good work!
The Castle Inn have a steak night on the last Friday of each month. We have been to the last three and have not been disappointed. As part of larger group we pre ordered from Sirloin, Ribeye or Fillet. Chicken is also available for non beef eaters. My wife usually has a sirloin and I have a ribeye. On each occasion the steaks have been excellent. There is no starter but there is a dessert menu with three or four options. You also get a bottle of wine (red, white or rose not vintage but quaffable) to share between two of you. The total cost last time for the two of us was £38.00 which we considered to be good value for money. Even more so when you consider that there is live entertainment throughout the evening. We can definitely recommend the Castle Inn.
We had a family dinner for 11 people and the food was excellent. The staff was very attentive and helpful despite being extremely busy. There was a fantastic selection of dishes, all served piping hot. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Came here for the first time for a wake for a friends wife. They served an excellent buffit in a very friendly atmosphere. Will definitely come again.
