Restaurante El Cardenal

Definitely worth a visit when you are in Mexico City. You should always be prepared for a waiting time of about 45 minutes. It is definitely worth the wait. Very good service, delicious and large selection of dishes in a nice and cozy atmosphere. The prices are absolutely fine and reasonable compared to the quality. I will definitely come again.

If I could give this restaurant 6 starts I would. The food is amazing and the service too. The bread is fresh baked. They are really proud about the milk they used which is fresh. The breakfast are amazing.

Amazing experience and food after going to el bazaar sabado.

You HAVE to go here. We came in at 4.30pm on a weekday because we felt like a snack and a glass of wine. We were not prepared for what followed. The waiter brought little shot glasses of some sort of sorbet thing. Next thing he came over with tortilla chips and a bowl of really nice guacamole. We were already so impressed and then he came out with a generous basket of insanely good warm crusty bread with butter. Can’t remember when I last had such delicious bread. We weren’t super hungry so we only ordered tortilla soup and lamb tacos. I think the tacos were just a starter but it was a very generous portion and came with lots of accompaniments. Honestly so delicious moist, juicy lamb shoulder inside warm corn tortillas. You have got to try this dish. The soup was very nice too. After all that we felt like we had to get some dessert just to try it, so we ordered a vol au vent to share. The waiter brought out TWO dishes on two separate plates but only charged us for the one dessert. We couldn’t believe it. And again, it was delicious. You must try this too. When the bill came out for the whole enormous meal we could not believe how reasonable the prices were relative to the quality of the dishes and the service. We were so happy we came here and this will be a meal that we remember forever.

The restaurant is located in a very nice building. The food is very good, with many mexican plates in a modern way ,and the service is good too.
