Prices were a point of contention, with some feeling it was overpriced for the portion sizes. Despite some inconsistency, the cafe still has loyal customers who appreciate the gluten-free options and friendly staff. Overall, it seems like a decent spot for a casual meal, but perhaps not the best choice for those seeking traditional hearty fare or looking to avoid tourist traps.
I am not sure what to rate the cafe . We sat outside as we had the dog ordered 2 sandwiches and drinks . They were ok nothing to write home about . Cakes did look amazing but did not want to be disappointed so did not have one . Service ok just not what we expected such a shame
The Wild Strawberry has always been our first stop for morning coffee on any visit to Keswick. This time however I was disappointed. The service remains very friendly and helpful and there is a good range of cakes and bakes. The crepes were also very good. However the coffee left something to be desired and the atmosphere was not as cosy as in the past. Not as 'special ' as on previous visits which is a shame.
We stopped by the Wild Strawberry for a drink and a cake early one afternoon this week. Our cakes were very good as was my wife's latte but my mocha lacked any texture as though the milk had been over-heated which was disappointing. Service was just about OK but the young service staff seemed unfocused and the youngster who took our order was chewing gum. I appreciate that businesses have had to increase prices to cover higher costs but this doesn't excuse sloppy service.
A good choice of gluten free alternatives on the menu. Gluten free crepes are cooked on the same equipment as those with gluten but we were advised it was thoroughly cleaned before preparing a GF crepe and have had no adverse reaction.
Luckily arrived at The Round when there were no queues, so got straight in and seated. I was excited by the bar food menu which featured 3 vegan burgers, I went for the green gable burger and sweet potato fries. Food came quickly and staff were friendly, but I was disappointed by the burger. I think some of the previous reviews overhyped this place. Maybe the fake meat pate was the better option?
