I absolutely love this place! The food is always fresh and served hot! I work right on the street, so it’s incredibly convenient to enjoy delicious home-cooked meals. The service is consistently wonderful as well! View all feedback.
My spouse and I were in town to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and came across this restaurant. The food was Amazing. My spouse even said that their food was better than his mother's Jamaican food, which is quite hard to top. We are from Richmond, VA and are already talking about stopping by this place next time we are in the area!
Great Jamaican food healthy size portion Friendly staff ready to accommodate wishes Coming from NJ was looking for my new regular place this is it disappointed by quite few in Lehigh Valley for one or more reasons. Big Ups to cook and staff. I have had Oxtails Today I will have Curry chicken roti
I left Jamaica at the age of 26 years old 19 years ago and this evening on the 2nd of September 2017 at approximately 7:45 I can say I've tasted the best Jamaican food in United States. I'm a trucker I drive all over the United States and I know where most of the Jamaican restaurants are and ISLAND IN THE SUN I'm telling you this, your manish water exceeds them all. I can't remember the last time I've tasted manish water so good not even in Jamaica. The rice and pease with the oxtail is awesome, the sorrel is awesome. the place was exceptionally clean, the staff was nice and friendly, I had to shake Chef Junior's hand. I give this restaurant five stars and beyond. Keep up the great taste ISLAND IN THE SUN!!! God bless you all
This neighborhood restaurant is a true gem in the community. Alongside its fun and quirky island-themed decor, the oxtails and curry goat are absolutely divine. The made-to-order salt fish is both fresh and packed with flavor. The side vegetables are also perfectly fresh, retaining a slight crunch without being overcooked. The entire experience is elevated by the warmth and exceptional service of the two gentlemen who run the place, Charles and his brother Dave. It’s definitely a place worth visiting!
What a small gem in downtown Allentown, which has very few good restaurants. We stopped by for lunch and ordered the backpack lamb and jerk...
