Pleasant welcome to this heritage building with interesting Chinese art etc. Menu was good and queries helpfully clarified. Generous servings supplemented by some chopped hot chilli! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Oriental Gourmet:
Ordered combination fried rice, spring rolls and salt and pepper calamari. Rice tasted like plain old boiled rather than fried. Salt and pepper was non-existing with the calamari but it still tasted nice. The spring rolls were good but not exceptional. View all feedback.
Whenever we visit family in Alice, we always order takeout from this restaurant and we are always pleased. They have a wide selection of dishes to choose from. I highly recommend trying the Mongolian lamb dish! The prices are reasonable and the staff are very friendly.
When you look at the building, it is hard to decide whether it is open or closed. When it is open, the food is excellent and the service is good. Beautiful variety on the menu
The service and food at this restaurant are absolutely fantastic. Despite its unassuming appearance, it is truly a hidden gem in Alice Springs. You know it's a great find when you see that most of the diners are Chinese. The prawn toasts were delicious, and the portion sizes were very generous. We were too full to finish our meals, not because they weren't tasty. The service was excellent as well. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
Was very disappointed. We ordered fried rice, babe and vegetables. All dishes had no taste, serving sizes were good.
We order from here at least twice a month because we love it so much. I’m half Thai half Chinese and grew up with homemade Chinese cuisine and the food from this restaurant is the only food that reminds me of home.
