Dolan’s was spectacular! We went with some friends and had an excellent time! There was a group sitting place outdoors, so COVID friendly. The food and service were exceptional—even for a Saturday night. No waits, no long delays. And the menu wasn’t abbreviated. Fried Naan was a little much with the rub they used but the Lamb skewers changed our lives. So good. So tender. The bone-in chicken was superb, as well. And... View all feedback.
What Ethan Y doesn't like about Dolan’s Uyghur Cuisine:
I've passed by this place many times in my life, but finally gave it a try a few months ago. We ordered the big plate chicken with noodles, the chicken braised rice (a little overcooked for my tastes), and finished with the honey cake. Pretty tasty and rustic food in general. View all feedback.
First time coming to this restaurant, was purposely looking for Uyghur cuisine. One note here: the first Dolan’s that comes up will lead you to the Roland Heights location, so make sure you know where you are headed to. The food here is really good. I loved the goshnaan, a must have. The yogurt desert is really good after a heavy meal.
I had Dolan 's bookmarked for some time and I 'm glad I was able to try it. They have a small parking lot however street parking is a breeze. We luckily went in after the lunch rush so we got the last open spot. It 's nicely decorated inside and the outdoor seating has a large mural. They have a QR code with table numbers for digital menus and contactless ordering but they also came up to our table with the physical menu. Ordering was simple and they confirmed our order as well. I got the special tea and it came in a beautiful pot with cups with very cute cup holders. It was floral and sweet. We tried the chicken plate, Goshnaan meat hand pie and lamb soup. The chicken plate was huge for the small size but noodles are hidden at the bottom. Definitely need to order extra noodles next time. The meat hand pie was delicious and well seasoned. My bf enjoyed the lamb soup but I personally do not like lamb because of the gamey taste. The soup had goji berries and dates which were so good.
When asked why it would take another 20 minutes, minimum, for food to arrive, after we 'd already been waiting for at least 40 minutes, the answer the staff gave was, well, the chef likes to batch certain dishes together, and yours are less common. Apparently the table next door 's dishes weren 't very common either, since they were waiting before we got there and left at the same time. There was no apology given except for a bowl of yogurt. We left without eating. Consider hiring a chef who makes dishes in the order that customers arrive.
Vegetarian here for a vegan/plant-based review! Dolan's Uyghur Cuisine has something for both vegans and non vegans, so you can definitely dine here if you're in a party with various dietary needs! We ordered appetizer, Uyghur Salad (vegan), and their food is definitely on the spicy side, even though we ordered a mild. If you're someone who can't really handle spice, definitely make that known to your waiter. My waiter was knowledgeable about which items were plant-based, but I also double checked that they didn't contain milks/eggs. The vegan entree items are mostly their noodle based dishes. I ordered the Laghman which was very flavorful and came with tomatoes and other veggies. The noodles are chewy and it was decent serving size. My friends ordered Quyash Qatlima, which they described to taste like a mix of a quesadilla and dumpling, and an entree each, a rice and noodle dish. We also ordered the honey cake and cherry baklava, which were both good but quite decadent (not vegan). All three of us really enjoyed our meal and definitely would return given the chance to. Non food related things: There's street parking and a lot in the back, clean restrooms, and a spacious dining area. The waiters were friendly and service was great!
Great food and staff and it is even a better thing to support the Uyghur people. Highly recommend.
