Contribute FeedbackKing and Rye restaurant in Alexandria offers a nice setting and decent food, making it an acceptable dining option for visitors, especially those staying at the adjoining hotel. With attentive service and good dishes like Shrimp and Grits, the experience is generally positive. However, some guests found the restaurant week pricing confusing and felt they were overcharged for standard menu items. Service has been hit or miss, with some diners left disappointed by slow service and cold dishes. Overall, King and Rye is a suitable choice for a casual meal, but may not meet everyone's high expectations.
The service was lacking in friendliness and attentiveness. The food was average, and the live music was too loud and of poor quality.
The atmosphere and presentation were fantastic at this restaurant. The cocktails were also very good, but the food lacked flavor. The deviled egg appetizer was too spicy, and the burger and homemade tots were not seasoned well. Overall, it was a decent dining experience, but some improvements could have made it better.
Fantastic food!!¡!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We came specifically for the Espresso Martini. I ordered in when we sat down at our first table. Unfortunately, I requested we be moved after a mouse sighting. As we were moved to the high top. The waiter informed me they were out of the coffee liqueur needed to complete my drink. That would have been ok, but the two females who walked in while we were moving were successfully served two espresso martinis. The chicken was dry and the homemade tater tots were slimy. Hopefully they get it together and get rid of their “pets” (their words, not mine).
The food lacked seasoning and was overall bland. While it tasted decent, it was not worth the price.
