We had mixed fried fish and 6 oysters to start, then moule and swordfish. Great service and a great experience. Not cheap but not expensive either. 11 euro for the oysters. Had no effect on the sex life.....oh well.
Lovely romantic restaurant for seafood. Started off with 6 oysters which was lovely. Main: Mussels with chips- generous potion size, slightly heavy on the salt but it was still very lovely. The chips were amazing. Seafood linguine- great amount of seafood but the pasta was a bit cold. Flavour was rich and tasty. This restaurant is on the price range rather than but the view is lovely if you have a chance to sit outside. The staff were friendly and helpful.
On our way between Porto Vecchio and Corte area, stopped here for lunch. Lovely floating restaurant on the lagoon with fresh mussels grown just outside... we arrived at 1215 without reservation and the place quickly filled up. We sat inside and shared 2 moules frites (extra plate for our 7 year old son), 2 glasses of wine, 2 coffees and an ice cream for €60. Not cheap but good value for the freshness and quality. Service excellent also. The seafood platters looked amazing!!
There are hundreds of coastal experiences to enjoy in Corsica, but for me, nothing tops eating oysters and seafood on the floating restaurant Aux Coquillages de Diana. This delightful little chalet a veritable 'hidden gem ' in the cove of Aleria comes as such a surprise! Accessed by a 30 meter gangway/bridge that is brilliantly festooned with flowers, the cute bistro seems welcoming with its portholes and open air patio. Gven that the restaurant in surrounded by oyster beds, oysters are the star of the menu. But there are so many delicious treasures to try here: fried local smelt; grilled fresh fish of the day; octopus salad; scallop brochettes and grilled prawns, just to name a few. And everything is perfectly prepared, probably because this is what the culinary does day in and day out. A unique dining experience, simple presentations, excellent seafood and (for Corsica) reasonable prices: these are all good reasons to discover Aux Coquillages de Diane.
For a fish restaurant, I thought the fish was only interesting, not amazing. Great oysters, but sea bass and sea bream nice and red mullet adequate. In fact the freshness of the fish from the sea lake was its redeeming feature. We had a very pleasant lunch that turned out to be pretty expensive. So mixed feelings about this restaurant.
