A few of us dropped by here for a tasting and this was the favourite out of the others we had hit up in the area. Very aromatic and flavourful wines. Tasting room was a bit small and can probably only fit one or two small groups at a time. Water here is from the well but you can buy bottled water here. Blackwood Lane was our last winery tour stop and it was a good experience. We were the only people there and the lady assisting us was very pleasant and explained all the wines well. They have a few different tasting options and I opted for the lower end as I was uninterested in what they considered their high experience. It had a couple more red wine additions and honestly red wine isn 't my favorite. The property was nice except for clear cutting of trees in the back which made me wonder what will happen in the future since the embankment is at a slope and since nothing will grow for months combined with frequent rain it seems like setting up for landslide conditions. That didn 't make much sense to me. The vehicle outfitted in front for zombies seemed to attract the most attention, more than their wines. It was cool but also a bit out of place.
Nice tasting experience and really good wines here. They know what they've got and aren't trying to recreate Napa Valley varietals. Carlos is a down to earth winemaker and doesn't try to do anything gimmicky either. It's strange that Chaberton is always one of the top recommendations when BLV is so much better.

We did find it odd that they charge a $5 corkage fee for their own wine if we wanted to enjoy it on the patio.
We had a lovely experience at Blackwood Lane this past Saturday. I have been to the winery a few times prior to the pandemic, and their wines have always been incredible. When my girlfriends and I were planning on which winery to cycle to we had decided on Blackwood Lane. We were initially only planning on staying for a tasting, but after completing the premium tasting and purchasing some bottles for home, we quickly decided we had to sit on their patio to enjoy the beautiful view which paired lovely with our bottle of Cab Franc (perfect patio drinking wine! You can tell that their wine is something they take immense pride in and isn’t mass produced. Their Alliance Bordeaux Style Blend is an absolute must try as well, it is excellent! We will absolutely be returning to Blackwood Lane for another summer day to enjoy their wine on the patio.
Had a great time doing a tasting and then enjoying their cab franc on the patio for a lovely sunny Sunday outing
