Chow Shop - Albury

What a lovely find around the corner from the Mantra Albury. We absolutely loved our freshly prepared takeaway from a delightful couple.

Booked into the great Mantra Hotel in Albury on my way from Melbourne to Sydney as a break in the long journey The Mantra was a great hotel and just on the corner near the very smart hotel was this little chinese cafe that was just what I wanted, sweet and sour pork and fried rice. Quick, cheap and I could tell that the locals have a great rapport with the owners. Unfortunate name which I am sure would bring hoards of Uni students out in droves to demonstrate, but if I could recommend a simple pleasure in Albury for a quick meal this is it

Beautiful couple who prepare authentic chines food. The Nasi Goreng is the best I have ever tasted love this little cafe

I have been going to this hidden gem for years since even before the tax office was built next door. Prices have always been reasonable for what you get and the service is always with a smile. I did notice on my last visit that there had been a small price increase but the dishes had less meat and more veg in it. Still, the food is delicious and I’m happy to keep going back for good consistent Chinese food!

A busy day, and hungry . Was initially attracted by the lunch special. When looking at the full menu found some treasures. Had the Chicken Keow Tau, and the hanger on had the Beef Pepper Black Bean Noodle. Total bill $22. Very clean, small and friendly. A great find. Enjoy!
