...and an Italian man saw us and said “Eat here, is good. Is very good, price ok”. Well, you can hardly refuse. It’s basically a small fish shop, with a restaurant and terrace. We loved it. The spaghetti with assorted seafood was tops. It’s worth trying to find this place.
What Carla Fossati doesn't like about Pescio Vivo Cuxinn-a Zeneize:
Restaurant with adjoining fish shop located in the Albisola area. The dishes are those of the Ligurian tradition, the atmosphere is youthful and informal, there is no shortage of nice references to our Liguria. Overall, the prices appear expensive compared to the quality and preparation of the food: the fish in some courses appears to be frozen and the fried fish heated in the microwave; this can be deduced because i... Best octopus salad I have ever eaten. It is warm and soft!!! Very cozy place and calm. You can take away and eat in. Very much Italian and family-like. Though desert was a bit strange. Frozen. Secondo was topical local food burida- taste interesting!
Cash only, you must walk to a bank with them. avoid if you can
I was in this fishpond/restaurant last night. First of all, the correct name is Live Fish. Walking with my family in Albissola Marina looking for a place to eat dinner, I came across this fishpond which, in the evening, cooks fish for those who want it. On the door it is clearly stated that it is not a restaurant but a place where the fish is cooked and the customers manage the rest themselves: it intrigues me, the idea is nice and it is outside the box! Let's go in. They make us sit in an internal room and bring us the menu with the variations of the day. I order, as communicated by the waitress, octopus, cuttlefish and potatoes but, as you can see from the photo, they bring me octopus and potatoes. First disappointment. Second: is there a waitress? But wasn't it supposed to be self-managed? I ask and they tell me that it is used to hide the fact that it is very basic. Good and (I hope) fresh fish but the place is far from the excellent idea reported on the entrance door.
Excellent location and value for money, rare in the area. Abundant portions, good raw materials and Ligurian fish cuisine (and something without). Advised.
