What Orpenitin doesn't like about Blundens Fish And Chips:
The majority of the food at this restaurant was great, with tasty chips, delicious spring rolls, and a good veggie burger. However, the halloumi was disappointing as it was quite soggy. Overall, it was just okay. View all feedback.
Best fish and chips I've had for years. the fish was delicious and fresh, the chips were fantastic and the owner was friendly and welcoming. I've already told people about this place. a real hidden gem.
Eating is always good quality and cake hot as it is freshly cooked to order. the prices are reasonable and there is a good choice on the menu.
Excellent fish and chips cooked fresh to order. I'm happy to wait for super fresh tasty food .
Slightly pricey, but that's a lot of fish chip shops for you ... ever since the potato became more expensive pound for pound than gold. Having said that, properly cut, not frozen chips and generously sized fresh fish. Both light and not greasy. The whole place feels very clean and hygienic too.
My wife and I go to this place when we visit my mother in law. We 're vegan and take our store bought, Quorn or Green Cuisine, vegan fish fishless fingers and fishless scampi , for them to cook for us and they come out just like real ones (I used to eat the real thing not that long ago ! We also order breaded mushrooms and onion rings with crispy batter. The chips are perfect British type chunky chips, they are not soggy and are not undercooked and they ask about salt and vinegar before adding for take away, important for those managing high blood pressure. Portions are large, we can never eat it all in one sitting, it 's always two meals and very reasonably priced. Even when reheated on greaseproof paper, in the oven, their chips are cooked using a crisp and dry type oil so they still come out great. My wife loves putting soy sauce and onion vinegar on hers at home. I prefer a mix of vinegar, lemon and ground pepper. The wife loves the curry sauce, but she 's British and I 'm not! They are a local family business (father and son and they are friendly and kind, who else do you know who would fry your supermarket bought fish substitute stuff for you, because you 're vegan?! We tip liberally to show our appreciation. : Who knows maybe we will see the Quorn and Green Cuisine fishless products on their menu soon?! They are available on Uber Eats too (my wife orders for her 70 year old mum to her door, when we aren 't there! . The cod too, is excellent, as the mother in law approves. She 's often negative and has previously complained about small portions and soggy batter from other fish and chip shops. So it is high praise to hear from her that the Fish size is good for the price, bigger than expected , and that their batter is crisp , and that the cod is tasty . A big part of why we now only go to them on our visits. Truly a blessing to see them each time we visit and their smiles and kindness always brightens our day. Looking forward to the next time we see them.
