If you haven't experienced Texas pride, you must visit this restaurant. It may be a bit of a drive from anywhere, but it's well worth it. The brisket is mouthwateringly delicious, and the atmosphere is family-friendly. Each day offers a unique experience, such as cycling evenings, fish fry nights, live music, and a display of vintage cars and objects. What User doesn't like about Texas Pride Barbecue:
The restaurant had a terrible customer service experience despite their claim to take pride in it. They need to improve their customer service quality and mannerisms. View all feedback.
We just drove from the canyon lake to eat here. we have the 2 meat plate and it was terrible. the sausages and the ribs were cold. the icy was good! haha. my hubby fried the brisket. the brisket tasted old and warmed under a flashlight. we drive now to the house and he feels sick (stomach badness) we drove and the hour to get there. I'm sorry. but we do not recommend this place?
This place NEVER disappoints. Brisket as tender as pilled pork. Enough sides to choose from, unlike the places that only offer beans and potato salad. Here, you get green beans, mac n cheese, and more. The sandwich buns are thick, soft, and slightly sweet. One sauce choice and it's perfect. 100 years of practice and they have made it to perfect. And then they raised the bar with pecan pie cobbler, a la mode or naked best dessert in Texas.
Tastes just like I remember ?I hate to admit that it had been about 10 years since I'd been back to Texas Pride BBQ, why has it taken me this long?!?!?! Well, let me tell you, I was not disappointed. I ordered a brisket plate, with two sides. I ended up getting green beans, and some of the best Mac &Cheese around! So yummy.!!!! I also had the pleasure of speaking to the owner briefly, he was so kind, and was constantly making sure his staff was in the Know The day we went they were overwhelmed with and event and you could tell the staff was just doing a remarkable job of serving up all of this food. ? Great Job! ? As far as the brisket, it was perfection! Moist and savory like it should be, didn't need the BBQ sauce, it was that GOOD on it's own. I give them FIVE yummy faces hands down. Oh, and when you go, grab that peach cobbler, you won't regret it. ?????
Our first time trying Texas Pride. Great facility, wonderful staff. The food was not what the other five star reviews experienced. The cheesy potatoes were dry and lukewarm. the Turkey was okay but pales in comparison to others. Green beans were okay, but they are green beans. Jalapeno sausage was okay and the brisket was fair. We were definitely confused by such great reviews, especially since we were there around noon and they open at 11. One would think there would be more folks lined up for this place and food would be piping hot. Much better flavors elsewhere.
First visit for us. We brought the volleyball team after their 2nd place tournament in La Vernia. We had the #1 Family Combo. Brisket and Sausage, macaroni salad and green beans, finished with the peach cobbler. Delicious food and a band was playing on the stage. We will definitely come back.
