The Bread And Fish - Acre

Overcharging, average food, plane service 1. Food is average. Same stuff one can find in most other places throughout Israel for less money. 2. We ordered one set of salads, were charged for two and when we tried to argue they didn’t want to listen. 3. Prices are high even for such an expensive country as Israel. A handful of deep fried calamari and shrimps for 100 NIS (30 USD) without any side dish whatsoever. In general, choose another place — there are enough of those in Acre.

We live a couple of minutes from this restaurant and after a friend reconnended decided to try it. We were very disappoined, the waiter was very nice, some of the dishes were good, however: The pita (bread) was not fresh. The garlic's pita was not tasty. The glass of white wine was served from a bottle which was opened a couple of weeks ago (it was replaced). My steak was made from rotten meat (it was replaced too) So, this is a medium minus restaurant with nice waiters and it's not cheap. I know many restaurants in this area, better and cheaper so no plans to return.

Aggressive and Hostile Waiter. The waiter kept asking us if everything was alright. I remarked that the shrimps were lacking in taste and enough garlic. He insisted there was plenty of garlic and slammed more sauce on the table (which was cold). He simply could not accept that I was dissatisfied, dipped his spoon in my dish, to taste it, rolled his eyes and ranted and raved about me half in Arabic and half in Hebrew. We were charged £20 for a totally tasteles dish. We have eaten many times in Acre and have never encountered such rude and unprofessional conduct..

We were drawn in by the ideal location (wonderful views) and lively atmosphere. Both of these are on the plus side. The food, however, was poorly prepared and expensive. The salmon and lamb were both over cooked, the fries were soggy, and even the salads (usually so reliable in Israel) were not well prepared.The food in Israel is amazing and this was the only meal on our trip that disappointed.

Five stars is not enough to give this restaurant. I give this restaurant 10 stars!
