Absolutely incredible!!! One of the best prawn cocktails we've ever had. It was fresh and flavorful, with a perfect balance of sauce. The burger was great too—juicy, savory, and a generous portion. I ordered truffle and cheese fries, and they were just perfect! As for dessert, it was absolutely delightful! I will definitely be coming back! View all feedback.
What Mark Watt doesn't like about Chez Mal Brasserie At Malmaison Aberdeen:
The restaurant has an attractive appearance and modern decor, but that's where the positives end. The service was quite slow, even though the place wasn't particularly busy during my visit. The lamb main course was nearly inedible due to the excessive chewy fat on the skewer. For £17.50, it was a major letdown. I had intended to return for afternoon tea, but after this experience, I won’t be doing that. View all feedback.
The decor was really nice in the restaurant! Food was amazing We will definitely be back next time we visit Aberdeen
Good, but not great. the decoration of this place is very beautiful made. quite modern. we had dinner in the restaurant on the back, not in the bar area. if they love red meat, the restaurant is for them. if not, that is not the restaurant for them. when we went there, we tried everything (an appetizer, head, side and dessert) and although it was good, I just don't think it was the best eating out there for the price. my man and I both walked around with more than filled bells, so the portions were generous. the atmosphere was wonderful and so was the service, I had just better eating elsewhere.
I also agree with other comments, its really good but not great ! unlike its sister company Hotel Du Vin in Cambridge, it doesn't even come close. Aberdeen really needs a quality Restaurant but until then, this is as good as it gets.
This review refers to the restaurant and not the hotel rooms. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!!! The hotel is simply stunning inside and the bar area was welcoming and sylish. Before you even get to the restaurant you will be in awe of the surroundings, everything is stylish and attractive. You walk over a glass corridor under which you can see their wine cellar. The restaurant is large, with high ceilings and stylish decor. There are 2 private rooms you can see into one next to a large store room with all the locally sourced meat hanging! The style is locally sourced Scottish food cooked well. The oysters were delightful and better than I have had anywhere, however the star of the show was the steak, cooked beautifully and melt in the mouth I challenge you to find better!!!! The service was attentive and friendly. The bill was as you would expect £105 for 2 people, 2 courses, bottle of wine and coffees, but worth every penny. Can't wait to return!
Tasty Bellini and v tasty flirtini! check out those funky curtain tie backs!
